Competing in the World: The Challenge of Business Location

Competing in the World: The Challenge of Business Location

6th edition (2012): Competing in the World: The Challenge of Business Location

What are the parameters of competitiveness that will help companies and territories to emerge from the crisis quickly? What are companies doing about it? Do Catalonia and Catalan companies stand up in a comparison with the best players on a global scale? These were the questions asked by the speakers of the 6th FemCAT Forum. The guests responded with complex elements that made up an X-ray of and recommendations for business competitiveness in Catalonia.

Participating speakers: Carles Navarro, Vice President of Sales for BASF; Xavier Carbonell, Xavier Carbonell, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for Mango; and Oriol Guixà, CEO of La Farga Group.

  • Xavier Carbonell: “The company can put a lot of resources towards being competitive but in the end it will be so if the country is also competitive.”
  • Carles Navarro: “We all must foster conditions which will allow for the continuation of the investment policy in Catalonia.”
  • Oriol Guixà: “It is the responsibility of employers to take charge of business organizations and thereby foster a competitive and innovative environment.”
